Firearms Liability
Third-party liability cover for organisations that deploy legally armed personnel, for the moment an authorised firearm is discharged.
The risk
Any discharge of a firearm, accidental or unclear, can bring claims from people who were never meant to be involved: a guest, a customer, a bystander. Even where liability is never established, defence costs can be substantial, and the legal, financial and reputational consequences severe. Cover is for organisations whose employees or contractors carry firearms legally.
What the policy does
The policy covers third-party claims for bodily injury and damage to property and contents arising from an authorised firearm discharge, together with all associated defence and legal costs. Claims are investigated, negotiated and settled with dedicated claims handling support, and the insurer may take control of the defence or settlement, putting specialist expertise on your side.
Certainty where other policies are silent
General liability policies may be silent or insufficient when a firearm is involved. Firearms Liability Safeguard is written for this exposure alone, with dedicated limits that sit outside your general programme, so you know exactly where you stand before anything happens.
Your duty of care to others
Deploying armed personnel brings a duty of care to everyone around them: guests, customers and bystanders. This policy addresses that duty directly, protecting the people you are responsible for and the organisation that must answer for them.
